No need to rush -- and well... I wish I could agree but I'm kind of human, you know.
[ SLIGHT SARCASM THERE, mostly because well it's true! Though, Hijikata just sounds amused saying that.
But with a sip of his tea he ponders this question! Hm hm... ]
Let's see... I didn't even get Izuminokami until the Shinsengumi became more well known and that's because we worked really hard to climb that far from just a collection of farmers and samurai. It was a pretty important -- Proud moment in my life, so to treat a sword like that as an object didn't feel so right.
[ How should he put this? ] Well, I guess it's only natural for a person to treat a sword like a prize when you get it from something important, right? As for me, you know, I was never suppose to be a samurai in the first place, let alone even have a sword.
It's those kind of things you don't want to take for granted. My swords represent the Shinsengumi, and all the hard work we've done and still do. [ Because Hijikata's dreams and goals for himself and the Shinsengumi is almost like a never ending climb up the mountain. ] It's not a prize I can just hang up on the wall, call it a day, and brag to others.
[ And another sip of tea to finish that off. Hopefully his answer was satisfying to Mikazuki! He's never really talked this much about his swords specifically to someone in Cerealia... ]
