[ ahem. okay, Hijikata's finally getting over his embarrassment. he takes a moment to rub his cheek, then he sighs. before speaking again he takes a sip of his tea to relax himself. damn Mikazuki! what a charmer (no one has genuinely complimented his poetry... so he couldn't help but be pretty embarrassed)! ]
Ah, well...
[ if Mikazuki liked them... there can't be harm in it, right..? ALTHOUGH... ]
I don't think I can read them to you... [ he rubs the back of his head. that's still embarrassing. ] But I can let you see my book, I suppose.
No? Well, I wouldn't want to force you...the fact that you're allowing me to look at them is an honor, haha. [ He may be leaving out that he's going to PROBABLY read them aloud himself but he is no poetic sword like Kasen Kanesada is...he may not read them that well? Who knows...Mikazuki is a very elegant type, after all! ]
Theeen...I'm coming over, Hijikkun! [ Cue his video feed going off, he's coming over RIGHT NOW. ]
[ but... Of course, Mikazuki already cut off the video feed before Hijikata could really say anything. so with that, he only lets out a sigh and gets off of his seat. ]
Guess I have no choice, huh... [ although, he really doesn't mind if Mikazuki visits. he's not that bad of company despite how Hijikata acts around him (considering his usual grumpiness). so he won't complain? he picks up his tea cup and makes his way out to the kitchen. well, the door is usually unlocked so he doesn't have to open it up for Mikazuki... well, he might as well prepare some tea for the both of them then?
so if anything, when Mikazuki finally arrives there might be a pleasant surprise of green tea waiting for him! ]
[ It didn't take too long for Mikazuki to arrive, inviting himself in like he has before. The first thing he notices is the tea, excusing himself as to take the prepared green tea into the palms of his hands...sighing in complete content after a sip. ] Hijikkun's personally made tea, aha...how lucky I am to taste it and get a peek at your poems.
They are primarily haikus, aren't they? [ Scoot, scoot... ] Do you happen to have a favorite? [ Scoots...Mikazuki has not so nonchalantly been edging closer to Hijikata's desk the entire time. Points for sipping his tea to at least not be THAT obvious about it. ]
[ it's been quite awhile since he's made tea himself, honestly.
Mikazuki... why ya scootin... Hijikata only glances at him since he doesn't really mind. then a nod: ] Ah, yeah...
[ a favourite..? he thinks about it for awhile, mostly because he isn't sure. he honestly might not have a favourite, actually but he could at least show Mikazuki this one... .... ... he flips a few pages over to a page- where the the fascinating rows of bedding / are made of the white / morning snow haiku is (this one should be familiar!).
under it is... Gone / the precious snow / no longer to be found in the yard with the pine ]
These two were sort of suppose to be together. I wrote them from when we had the first snowing in the HQ one year... Then when it all melted.
[ there's no way he's reading his own stuff out loud though. ]
